Fans expressed outrage after a popular star was fired by WWE.
Andrade returned to WWE last year after a three-year absence, during which he spent time in AEW, AAA, and CMLL. Unfortunately, his second run in the Stamford-based promotion wasn’t particularly fruitful, with only a handful of exciting moments that ultimately didn’t lead to anything. On September 13, it was announced that he had been released yet again.
Several reports have since made the rounds regarding the former Speed Champion, the most notable being that the former AEW star was unreachable for several weeks, and there were major creative and booking differences since his 2024 return.
Fightful Select then noted that Andrade was supposed to team with Rey Fenix against The Wyatt Sicks before Clash in Paris, but it didn’t come to fruition.
Fans Have Interesting Reactions To Andrade’s Recent WWE Release
Following Andrade’s WWE release, fans shared that they felt bad for the former superstar for various reasons.
Some shared that they saw it coming following his divorce with Charlotte Flair, how he was booked badly, and that the Stamford-based promotion wasted his talent by stationing him in the Speed division:
WWE ain’t do s**t with Andrade since he returned to the company. He could’ve been US champ or in the main event scene but they gave him that speed title. Waste of talent.”
“The whole Andrade situation sucks. The fact that his biggest accomplishment since returning was the Speed title is an absolute testament to how badly he was booked. That man was cooking during the Carmelo feud, how he wasn’t at least US Champion at some point is baffling.”
“Once the divorce happened it was ggs dawg I feel so bad for him.”
On the other hand, some fans shared that they were not surprised he was leaving after WWE decided not to award him the United States Championship and instead gave it to names like Solo Sikoa and Shinsuke Nakamura:
“they put the US title on ‘Solo Sikoa’ before Andrade I do not blame him for leaving lol.”
“If I was Andrade and they passed on giving me the United States Title for a washed up Nakamura I’d leave too.”
“WWE offers no upwards mobility for men’s talent anymore. Andrade got over twice felt like he was on the cusp of a title win each time then got passed for Nakamura and The Wyatts of all acts.”
