WWE Files Trademark For ‘Ben Carter’ And More

Ben Carter Thumb

As per Fightful, WWE filed for the trademark for four new ring names on January 8 including that for NXT UK Superstar, Ben Carter.

Among the new trademarks applied for are Tino Sabbatelli, Tony Gill, Joshua Bruns and the aforementioned Ben Carter. The latter made his much anticipated NXT debut on January 7, 2021, as a guest of Noam Dar on his Supernova Sessions talk show which then lead to a confrontation with NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Jordan Devlin.

The pair would clash in the main event on Carter’s WWE debut, with Devlin retaining his gold in a thriller, but not before the Brit put in a great shift and made a name for himself after doing the same in the promotions such as AEW.

The filing descriptions read:

As for the other two designations, Tony Gill will be assigned to former IMPACT Wrestling star Gursinder Singh – also said to be heading to NXT UK – while Joshua Bruns is the real name of Josh Briggs, former EVOLVE talent.
