WWE Files To Trademark Dominik Mysterio And Chelsea Green Ring Names

Fightful have reported that on September 24th, WWE filed to trademark the ring names ‘Dominik Mysterio’ and ‘Chelsea Green’.

This could hint at the 23 year-old son of Rey Mysterio being a mainstay of the main roster of WWE. Alongside his father, he has been feuding with the ‘Monday Night Messiah’ Seth Rollins and his disciple Buddy Murphy for several months now. He made his in-ring debut at Summerslam on August 23rd this year in a losing effort to Rollins.

A week before Dominik was re-introduced to WWE Television on March 19th, Rey Mysterio filed to trademark “Prince Mysterio”. This would cover clothing, merchandise, and wrestling performances. In an interview with ESPN a few days before Summerslam, Dominick revealed he had a mask and gear ready to go under the ‘Prince Mysterio’ name, but didn’t want to debut it just yet, saying

“I’ve always wanted to wear a mask mainly because of tradition. It’s important to keep that tradition going. Now with my face being out there, I think it would just have to be introduced a little bit differently so people understand. I definitely want to wear one, but it has to be introduced properly.”

Chelsea Green is part of the NXT brand, but has not appeared on TV since May 27th. As previously reported on this site, she later announced on Facebook that she had contracted COVID but was now clear of the virus. When she returns, we know that she will no longer be managed by Robert Stone, having fired him during her last TV appearance.
