Fastlane is coming back for the first time since 2021.

Pat McAfee made the announcement on his eponymous show that the event would be coming to Indianapolis, Indiana on October 7th.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I have been told that for the first time in seven years, a premium live event is coming back to the great city of Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 7, as Fastlane goes live from Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Tickets go on sale I believe tomorrow.”

Appearing as a guest on the show, Paul Heyman noted that it was an apt city for the event since it is the host of the famed Indy 500 race. He also had a message from his Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, claiming that WWE would bring relevance to Indianapolis, but the Indianapolis would also bring relevance to the promotion.

WWE Fastlane was last held in 2021

The event was a staple of the pay-per-view calendar from 2015-2019, usually taking place as part of the ‘Road to WrestleMania‘, it had a hiatus in 2020 but came back in 2021.

That year, Reigns defended the Universal Championship against Bryan Danielson in a 30-minute epic that ended with the Special Enforcer of the bout, Edge, attacking both men with a steel chair before The Head of The Table was able to get the win.

In the past, the event has seen Reigns clash with Jon Moxley and Brock Lesnar in a Triple Threat Number 1 Contentender’s match, Kevin Owens defend the Universal Championship against Goldberg, and Miro battle John Cena over the United States Title.
