According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the date for WWE Fastlane has been set, making it official final stop on the road to WrestleMania.
As per the report, the event will take place on March 21, 2021, seven days prior to the original date of WrestleMania 37 which has since been moved to April 11. While ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’ will move locations, it has been said that Fastlane will remain at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
While it is unknown what WWE has in the works for the event, it is likely they will use both this and Elimination Chamber, which will occur on February 21, to settle the final two challenger spots that aren’t decided by the winners of the Royal Rumble.
2021 will mark the seventh instalment of the event which began in 2015 was headlined by the match many believe will take centre stage at this year’s WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns.
However, the event is better known for the destruction of Kevin Owens at the hands of Goldberg in 2017, when the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion crashed through his foe in under twenty seconds – bell-to-bell – to lift the WWE Universal Championship.
WrestleMania 37 was recently moved to April 11 at Raymond James Stadium – the original site of WrestleMania 36 – and once again split over two nights with the very real hope that fans will be able to attend the biggest show on the year.
