Whilst factions in professional wrestling have always been a thing, they appear to have become more popular in the past 30 years. Led by the enormous popularity of the NWO, formed in 1996, many have since followed in the same footsteps with the likes of D-Generation X, The Corporate Ministry, Evolution and The Shield all gracing our screens to show strength can be found in numbers.
Once a group is together it is unusual for them to amend their name, however speculation is rife that a popular current WWE faction is set to undergo a change.
Legado Del Fantasma set to change name
One of the leading current WWE factions is Legado Del Fantasma. The group, consisting of Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro and Zelina Vega, have been featured prominently on WWE television in recent weeks, aligning themselves with newly inducted WWE Hall Of Famer Rey Mysterio as he battles with son Dominik Mysterio and his Judgment Day counterparts.
Mysterio presented the group with brand new Latino World Order t shirts on the 31st March episode of WWE SmackDown and the group would soon be sporting them on the ‘Grandest Stage Of Them All’ as they headed to ringside to fight off the Judgment Day as they look to interfere in Rey Mysterio’s WrestleMania 39 night one clash with son Dominik.
The alliance would continue this past Friday on SmackDown when Mysterio and Santos Escobar joined forces in a losing effort against Judgment Day pair Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest.
According to WRKD Wrestling, talks have taken place that would see LWO permanently replace the Legado Del Fantasma name:
“Discussions have taken place which would see Legado Del Fantasma transition away from their old name and become known full time as the LWO”

Whilst the future appears to be bright for the LWO, another WWE faction seems set to disband in the near future if reports are to be believed.
