WWE has faced a social media backlash following an appearance from Sonya Deville on The Bump where she was asked about Seth Rollins invading Edge’s home.
WWE Hall Of Famer Edge had to look for help in the most unlikely of places as Seth Rollins invaded his house on SmackDown on Friday night.
The bad blood between Seth Rollins and Edge continued on SmackDown with Rollins taking things to a new level as he let himself into The Rated-R Superstar’s house. With Rollins making himself at home exploring Edge’s home and eating his food, Edge was helpless as he was in Baltimore for SmackDown and the first night of the WWE Draft.
Thankfully for Edge, his wife and fellow WWE Hall Of Famer Beth Phoenix was said to be at the grocery store with the couple’s two daughters so the house was empty when the unwanted guest turned up.
Edge was seen backstage frantically calling his wife and telling her to go to her sister’s house rather than return home. He also told Phoenix that he had already sought assistance from “Daniel and David” who were said to be on their way to deal with Seth Rollins.
The “Daniel and David” in question was a reference to former AEW Tag Team Champions FTR, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. Daniel is the real first name of Wheeler while David is the name of Dax Harwood. Both men are friends of Edge and live close by in Asheville, North Carolina.
In an appearance on The Bump, WWE on-screen official Sonya Deville was asked about the angle, and that prompted anger from some fans online due to the situation portrayed by Rollins hitting a bit too close to home.
At SummerSlam in 2020, Deville lost a Loser Leaves WWE Match to former Fire & Desire partner Mandy Rose, but she also suffered a horrific personal ordeal in that same week. A man entered her home seemingly with the aim of kidnapping her, while Mandy Rose was also in the house.
Thankfully, both women were able to flee the scene in a car and call the police who arrived at the home to find the perpetrator still present awaiting his victim. Law enforcement arrested him on charges of Aggravated Stalking, Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, Attempted Armed Kidnapping, and Criminal Mischief.
Upon his arrest, it was discovered that the individual was the same who had been pestering Berenato on social media for several years with proposals of marriage as well as other messages of a romantic, personal and threatening nature.
Following the harrowing incident, Deville took time away from WWE television before returning at the beginning of 2021 as an on-screen official working with Adam Pearce.
