“The Belief Is John Cena Will Be Working WrestleMania”
It has long been rumoured that Cena will be appearing and potentially wrestling at WrestleMania 39. While the identity of a potential opponent remains in the realm of speculation, the feeling among fans is that his match on SmackDown could give some clues.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer notes that despite Cena filming a movie through February and March, WWE are expecting him to work WrestleMania.
“The belief is that Cena will be working WrestleMania but what we were told is that he’s working on his schedule to make sure it works, but the belief is that he’ll get it done.”
No matter his status for WrestleMania, it appears that John Cena in WWE remains big business. It was recently reported that in the days following the announcement of his match on SmackDown that WWE had sold an 4000 tickets for the show.
Dave Meltzer added that when Vince McMahon was Chairman there was talk of Cena facing Austin Theory. The young star has drawn comparisons with Cena not only from fans but those within the company. Theory captured the United States Title for the second time at Survivor Series.
