WWE Expected To File Motion To Compel Arbitration In Vince McMahon Lawsuit

WWE is expected to join Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis in filing for arbitration in the Janel Grant lawsuit.

In January 2024, former WWE employee Janel Grant accused Vince McMahon of sex trafficking and multiple counts of sexual misconduct. Following pressure from sponsors, McMahon resigned from all executive positions in the company and its parent company, TKO Holdings.

In April 2024, Vince McMahon motioned to file arbitration to the case, meaning that the case would be settled privately and not in a courtroom. McMahon claims that there are “complete falsehoods” in Grant’s allegations and that their relationship was consensual. In a surprising update a few days later, John Laurinatis, who previously claimed that he was a victim of McMahon, sided with the disgraced former Chairman and also filed a motion to compel arbitration.

As part of a new court document dated May 7th, WWE’s stance on the arbitration has also been stated:

WHEREAS, WWE also anticipates filing a motion to compel arbitration and stay this action pending arbitration

All 3 defendants must file their motions for arbitration by May 14th. WWE has yet to file the motion, Laurinaitis has filed the motion but not the memorandum and McMahon has filed both.

Vince McMahon Has Major Representation

As the lawsuit has progressed to the next stages, new information about who McMahon has hired for his defence has come to light. Along with hiring Jessica T. Rosenberg to represent him in the case, Vince McMahon has enlisted the services of a major PR firm, which includes clients such as Pepsi, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
