WWE Executive Gone After Nearly 25 Years With The Company

A top WWE executive is the latest to exit the company.

As reported by PWInsider, John Porco, who previously served as Executive Vice President of Live Events for WWE, left in February. Porco first joined the company in June 1999 and originally served in the Public Relations department. Porco would transition to the Liev Events department a few years later and was named Executive Vice President of Live Events in May 2022. Porco’s role will be taken over by Justin Scalise, who previously served as Senior Vice President of Live Event Marketing.

No additional details have been provided regarding the nature of Porco’s departure.

WWE Restructure Continues

The departure of John Porco is the latest in a lengthy list of employees to leave the company through voluntary means or be released from their positions. On New Year’s Day, a company-wide email informed staff that long-time Head of Production Kevin Dunn had left the company after news broke in December that he would be departing imminently. Dunn had been a part of the company for over 3 decades.

Back in February, it was reported that WWE senior writer Jennifer Pepperman had departed the company and has since gone on to work for AEW. It was reported that Pepperman’s relationship with Mercedes Mone, who also recently joined AEW, played a large factor in the jump.

The biggest departure took place back in January when Vince McMahon announced his resignation shortly before the Royal Rumble. The reason for the resignation was that Vince McMahon was accused of sex trafficking and multiple counts of sexual assault by former WWE employee Janel Grant. McMahon is still under federal investigation as a result of the allegations, which he denies.
