Dwayne Johnson hasn’t appeared on WWE television in person since the October 4th, 2019 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, but that could be about to change.
It has long been believed that Johnson will be stepping in the ring one more time to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. However, it has recently been reported that an appearance is far from locked in and there is even a good chance he’ll miss the show altogether.
Although this briefly dampened hopes of a comeback among the WWE faithful, the January 16th episode of Raw provided fresh optimism.
Is Dwayne Johnson Coming To Raw?
The show opened with The Usos and Solo Sikoa standing tall in the ring crowing over their demolition of Kevin Owens on SmackDown. The trio again highlighted the dominance of The Bloodline and said there would be a celebration on the 30th anniversary of the show on January 23rd. But not just any celebration. The Usos announced that there would be an “Acknowledgement Ceremony” for Roman Reigns with “every generation” of The Bloodline present.
This line in particular sent social media into a frenzy with some believing that it was a tease that The Rock could be appearing on the show to kick start his rivalry with Reigns. Perhaps interestingly, Rock’s most recent WWE appearance came on the 20th anniversary of SmackDown.
While it remains to be seen whether Johnson will be at the show, a number of huge matches and appearances have been confirmed. The Usos will not only be celebrating Reigns but they will also defending their Raw Tag Team Titles against the Judgment Day. Elsewhere, Becky Lynch and Bayley will do battle in a Steel Cage Match.
As with any anniversary show, the card is also set to feature a number of special appearances. WWE have announced that The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Ric Flair, The Bellas, and Shawn Michaels will all be on the show in some capacity.
