Since Finn Balor joined Judgment Day and the group brutally kicked Edge to the curb, they have established themselves as one of the most powerful factions in all of WWE.
While The Bloodline remains all-conquering on SmackDown, over on the red brand Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, and Dominik Mysterio stand tall over the rest of the roster. However, there could soon be another name added to that list of stars.
On the May 15th edition of Raw, JD McDonagh made his main roster debut in the Battle Royal to determine a new number-one contender for the Intercontinental Title. Although it was Mustafa Ali that won the match, McDonagh also caught the eye, attacking Dolph Ziggler.
Later on in the show, Cathy Kelley caught up with McDonagh in the parking lot to try and get an explanation for his actions. The Irish star said that he was on Raw to make a statement, and said that Ziggler was the perfect person for that before sending a warning to the rest of the roster.
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out that Finn Balor could be seen lurking in the background during the segment, planting the seed that he could look to recruit the star. Balor and McDonagh have an extensive history as they not only clashed at NXT TakeOver: Blackpool, but the former Universal Champion was responsible for training McDongh when he first stepped into the ring.
Paul Heyman Visits WWE Raw
Despite being drafted to SmackDown as part of The Bloodline, Paul Heyman popped up on Raw. The group’s resident Wise Man was seen talking to Finn Balor and Damian Priest who took on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in the main event, before shaking hands with Gunther. Imperium is due to meet Owens, Zayn, and a mystery partner on May 22nd.
After shaking hands with Gunther, Heyman got on the phone with Roman Reigns and appeared on the ramp during the main event as Imperium helped Judgment Day score the win.
