WWE on Netflix has officially begun with a big boost.
On 6th January 2025, the Stamford-based promotion made its much-awaited debut on the streaming giant and grabbed several eyeballs. Soon enough, after its debut, WWE started ranking first in both the US and UK markets, overtaking multiple popular shows.
Amid several big names appearing on the premiere show, the promotion’s director of Character Development Rob Fee, discussed its upcoming future. Noting the debut episode’s success, Fee believes the show on Netflix will be like appointment TV for the world. In an interview with Netflix’s website, he explained that the show is set to get more addicting from here on, and will be a game-changer.
“There were huge moments. “John Cena announcing he’s going to be in the Royal Rumble. Logan Paul saying he’s a full-time WWE Superstar now. Roman Reigns is getting all the power back — where does that leave him? So many big things are happening now and on the way. It really feels like it’s going to be appointment TV for the world, which is unbelievable. I think it’s a complete game-changer.
Over the next several weeks, months, and years, you’re going to see stories from the beginning — how they start building, how these relationships play out, how superstars interact, and you’ll get invested in these stories. The nuance is captivating [and] there’s so much attention to detail. If you enjoyed tonight, you’re in for a treat, because it’s only going to get more addicting from here.”
The January 6th episode also featured John Cena, who announced his official entry into the 2025 Royal Rumble. It also shed some glimpse into the upcoming 2K25 video game.
