WWE Creative Plans Post-Bloodline Confirmed

Roman Reigns and The Bloodline entrance on WWE SmackDown

WWE already has plans for a successor to The Bloodline.

The Bloodline saga has been the cornerstone of WWE storytelling for almost three years now. Roman Reigns’ first course of action after returning in 2020 was to recruit Paul Heyman as his Special Counsel. Then, after winning the Universal Championship that August, he forced The Usos to recognise him as their Tribal Chief. When at full strength, the group also included Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn.

Things began to fall apart when Zayn turned on Reigns in order to protect his friend Kevin Owens. Although Zayn failed to take the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship from the Head of the Table, he and Owens scored a huge win at WrestleMania 39 when they defeated The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships.

In the months that followed, dissension continued in the faction’s ranks and recently reached breaking point when The Usos turned their backs on Reigns. Then, at Money in the Bank, the pair defeated Reigns and Sikoa, with Jey Uso pinning Reigns to hand him his first loss since 2019.

With it looking like The Bloodline’s story is approaching its conclusion, WWE has its eye on another group to take its place at the centre of their shows.

WWE has big plans for The Judgment Day

Since Finn Balor took over The Judgment Day from Edge in 2022, the group – which also includes Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, and Dominik Mysterio – has gone from strength to strength. While there has been some dissension between Priest and Balor in recent weeks due to them both eyeing Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship, it looks like they’ll have a big part to play in WWE going forward.

According to WRKD Wrestling, the company sees them as the successor The Bloodline’s storyline due to their popularity and ability to bring up the ratings.

“WWE see Judgement Day as the successor to The Bloodline’s storyline, in terms of fan interest and longevity.

“The Judgement Day’s segments frequently gain major interest in the quarter hour ratings and will continue to be a center point of shows moving forward. #WWENXT”

Their most recent victory came during the July 18th edition of NXT, when Dominik defeated Wes Lee for the North American Championship with more than a little help from his teammates.
