WWE Reportedly Considering Summer NXT Stand & Deliver Event

WWE NXT 2.0

A new report has claimed that WWE are considering adding a NXT Stand & Deliver event to one of their summer stadium shows.

WWE are reportedly looking at adding an NXT special to one of the three huge upcoming stadium shows this summer.

On July 2nd WWE are heading to Allegiant Stadium in Nevada for Monday in the Bank, before moving to Nissan Stadium in Nashville for SummerSlam on July 30th, and the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales for Clash at the Castle on September 3rd.

The report from Wrestle Votes states that while preference is for Clash at the Castle, the more likely option is SummerSlam.

The previous two NXT Stand & Deliver Events have both been part of WrestleMania weekend. The first event in 2021 was split over two nights, mirroring WrestleMania 37.

By contrast the most recent edition of the show was cut back to one night and took place on the same day as night one of WrestleMania 38. On the show, Dolph Ziggler retained the NXT Championship, while Mandy Rose also kept hold of her Women’s Championship.

Should the event head to the UK, it will be the first NXT special to be held across the pond since NXT TakeOver: London in December 2015. During this period the ‘Black and Gold Era’ was in full swing, and the show featured many Superstars who would later feature on the main roster.

In the main event, Finn Balor retained the NXT Title against Samoa Joe, while Bayley retained her women’s crown with a win over Nia Jax.

Clash at the Castle is the first major WWE event to be held in the United Kingdom since SummerSlam 1992. On that occasion, the event was held at Wembley Stadium and was headlined by the classic bout between Bret Hart and the British Bulldog.
