Last week, Nox was attacked backstage before the NXT Battle Royal by eventual-winner Candice LeRae. Nox was deemed unfit to compete – but there was much speculation as to the legitimacy and severity of the injury. However, WWE have now released a statement via the NXT Twitter specifying said injury as a torn ACL.
Triple H elaborated on the injury on the NXT TakeOver media call, confirming that the torn ACL required surgery, which she’s already had.
The Game said Nox is unbelievably strong as a person and an athlete, and if anyone can return from this, it’s her. He ended the call by saying he’s sure Nox will return soon, better than ever.
Sadly, this new injury is the latest in a string of knee injuries Nox has suffered. WWE even released a WWE Network special back in April called ‘The Comeback‘ which detailed the Welsh Superstar’s pair of almost career-ending knee injuries, and the redemption and recovery as Nox bravely overcame them.

Nox’s time with WWE has been blighted by injury. Back in 2017, a newly-signed Nox was replaced in the Mae Young Classic after tearing her ACL before the tournament began. Poignantly, 2020 seemed to have been the year the Welsh Superstar could really show out. Nox has made a monumental impression in NXT this year.
From her rivalry with Dakota Kai to shining in tag team action, Tegan Nox looked to be making up for lost time. Nox also main-evented NXT earlier this year in a barnstormer of a match with Shotzi Blackheart. The pair faced off against then-WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Bayley.
Everyone at Inside The Ropes wishes Tegan a speedy recovery.
