Finally, the WWE WrestleMania documentary is coming to YouTube!
The build to Mania 40 captivated fans with the events surrounding Cody Rhodes and if he would be able to finally finish the story after suffering heartbreak the previous year. Although this appeared to be a certainty when Rhodes won the Royal Rumble for a second time, the return of The Rock less than one week later seemingly changed plans entirely as Rhodes effectively gifted his opportunity at Reigns to the Hollywood star, generating a significant amount of backlash from the fans.
Pivoting at the press conference, Rhodes confirmed he would challenge The Tribal Chief at WrestleMania and The Rock turned heel, eventually transforming into The Final Boss and leading to a tag team match in the main event of night one that also featured Seth Rollins.
In the lead-up to the event, it was announced that the documentary titled WrestleMania XL: Behind The Curtain would be released on the Wednesday after Mania. The trailer addressed the backlash and how they were forced to call an audible and featured interviews from the stars of the main event and Triple H. However, as April 11th came and went, the documentary never materialised on YouTube and no official updates were provided. However, multiple sources reported that the reason for the delay was that there was much more footage than anticipated so more editing was required than initially expected. On June 24th, the new premiere date was made official.
WWE Documentary To Air In July
A new trailer for the documentary was uploaded to WWE’s YouTube channel, confirming that the premiere date would be July 3rd at 7 pm EST.
