WWE Confirm New Match For WrestleMania 39

WWE WrestleMania 39

As WrestleMania 39 fast approaches, the card for the blockbuster event has been taking shape, and WWE have confirmed the latest addition to the spectacle.

Plans for WrestleMania began to form following the Royal Rumble, which saw Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley as winners of the men’s and women’s Rumble matches respectively. After Sami Zayn failed to capture the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship from Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber, it became clear that Rhodes would be facing Reigns in one of the show’s main events.

Ripley, meanwhile, made her intentions clear on the January 30th episode of Monday Night Raw, when she challenged Charlotte Flair to a match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. This left Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair without an opponent until after the events of Elimination Chamber, where Asuka defeated five other women to earn her way to title contention.

Though it has yet to be officially announced, it is expected that Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos will take on the reunited team of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Owens has been rejecting Zayn’s attempts at reconciliation in recent weeks, but on the most recent episode of SmackDown, the two finally shared an embrace after Sami had a another heated confrontation with Jey Uso.

WWE Announced A Fatal Four Way Tag Team Match For WrestleMania 39

With the tag team titles likely locked up in the bout between The Usos and Zayn and Owens, a number of other tag teams were left without a match at WrestleMania. However, according to a recent announcement via the company’s official social media, there will now be a fatal four way tag team match featuring teams from both Raw and SmackDown.

According to the tweet, The Viking Raiders, The Street Profits, Alpha Academy, and the team of Ricochet and Braun Strowman will all go head to head on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
