WWE Coach Claims New Raw Star Is “One Of The Best Wrestlers” In The Company

JD McDonagh in Fatal Five-way on WWE NXT

WWE Coach Biff Busick – previously known as Oney Lorcan – has praised one of Raw’s newest additions.

On the April 28th edition of SmackDown, the first night of the draft saw multiple NXT wrestlers being called up to the main roster. These included Zoey Stark and the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre.

However, one star was singled out for praise by Busick, former Cruiserweight Champion JD McDonagh. According to Busick, McDonagh is “one of the best wrestlers” in the company. He also pointed out the Irish star was the first draftee to get back to training after his move was announced.

“In my opinion, one of the best wrestlers in all of WWE. Also, was one of the first people to get in the ring and train the day after he got drafted.”

JD McDonagh speaks on being called up to WWE Raw

McDonagh spoke to WWE about his call-up backstage at NXT, admitting that for much of his 17-year career, he felt like he was “spinning his wheels”. However, working with the young stars of the developmental brand helped him reach the next level.

“It helped unlock something in me to help me finally get to the next level”

The star says he has loved his time in NXT, but he’s ready for the next step.

“I absolutely love this, I love “NXT. Love my time here, love testing myself. Now the next step, “Monday Night Raw,” Monday Night McDonagh.”

As the draft doesn’t take effect until the May 8th edition of Raw, McDonagh was able to fit one last match in on NXT. The bout saw him get a victory over Mexican sensation, Dragon Lee, although he had a bit of help from Noam Dar.
