The WWE Championship clash between Bobby Lashley and Randy Orton will no longer be taking place at Extreme Rules.
On the September 6th episode of RAW, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and MVP confronted Randy Orton and Riddle, after The Viper dropped The Almighty, with an RKO the previous week.
In the confrontation, Lashley said that Orton was a coward for the way that he attacked him. This led to the champion challenging Orton to a match one-on-one. While all the talk had been of Lashley becoming a multiple champion, Orton admitted that he quite liked the idea of holding more than one title.
So naturally, he would be happy to face Lashley, but only if he put his WWE Championship on the line. It was then confirmed that the two would meet at Extreme Rules. However, this is no longer the case.
During SmackDown on September 10th, a commercial ran promoting the match for the September 13th episode of RAW. This was later confirmed by WWE.
After Lashley and MVP emerged victorious from Tag Team Turmoil on the same show, they had been set to face RK-Bro on September 13th. With that match now replaced by the clash between Lashley and Orton, it is unclear when it will take place.
Also announced for RAW, Damian Priest will hold an open challenge for the United States Title, while Charlotte Flair will take on Shayna Baszler in a non-title match up. Both Priest and Flair will also be defending their respective championships at Extreme Rules. The Archer of Infamy will be taking on Sheamus, as Charlotte Flair faces the unorthodox Alexa Bliss.
Natalya will also be in action against Rhea Ripley, and Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Mansoor and Mustafa Ali will meet AJ Styles, Omos, T-BAR and MACE in a huge eight-man tag team match.
