A current WWE champion has opened up about his WrestleMania 41 bout.
With nearly two weeks left for WrestleMania 41, the current champions have started gearing up for their title defense. With LA Knight, Bron Breakker, Cody Rhodes, and Gunther all set to defend their titles, The Ring General recently shared his honest thoughts about his approaching match against Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41.
Around two months ago, Jey Uso won the 2025 Royal Rumble and challenged Gunther to a title fight. With WrestleMania 41 scheduled for April 19 and 20, it meant over two-and-a-half months of building their rivalry. Recently, speaking to Ariel Helwani on The Ariel Helwani Show, Gunther shared his thoughts and emphasized the challenges involved in maintaining this long feud.
“I am happy, but it was a challenge because it was a 10-week build. To really find something that excites you for 10 weeks is hard, especially with all the other stuff going on. But I think we managed it very well. The last two weeks I think we got it en route where it’s supposed to be.
“It’s always a little bit like… what I think would be the best idea, that doesn’t always happen. That’s the nature of how the business works, and then you’ve got to be mature enough to realize that we do stuff every week and there’s always a better idea for something.
“At the end of the day, it’s not about my personal taste or what I would like, it’s about what’s best for the product at that point, overall. In that regard, I think we managed it very well, and going into Mania, I think we set the tone very well.”

Although fan interest in this rivalry was initially low, it recently intensified after Gunther’s attack on Jimmy Uso. Veteran Matt Hardy recently commented on the segment and heaped praises on the champion.
Gunther Reveals His New Contract Perk
In the same interview with Ariel Helwani on Ariel Helwani Show, Gunther opened up on his new WWE contract, and its added perk.
“I signed a new contract and [A tour bus] was part it. I asked for that. What you don’t ask for, you don’t get.”
