A WWE record is close to getting broken by a current champion.
WWE recently concluded NXT’s debut on the CW network with spectacular results. With a massive viewership and quality matches, Shawn Michaels and team put forward one of the best shows in a long time.
With multiple title defenses, one championship got left out of the show. Dominant NXT North American Champion Oba Femi has been ruling NXT’s mid-card for a long time now. Currently, in a feud against Tony D’Angelo, the two featured in a special edition of The Miz TV during NXT’s CW Network debut show.
Femi has been a champion since January 9th and has defeated multiple notable names along the way. The promising star now resides at 269 days as the NXT North American Champion tied alongside Wes Lee’s title reign of 269 days from October 2022 to July 2023.
With no upcoming title match lined up for WWE TV, Femi is expected to break the title record and become the longest-reigning WWE NXT North American Champion. The Nigerian star has to hold the title for a few more days to break Carmelo Hayes’ joint two title reigns of 272 days. Femi’s last defence was on the September 10 NXT episode, against TNA’s Hammerstone.
Cody Rhodes Addresses The Possibility Of A Special Entrance At The Upcoming WWE Bad Blood PLE
In an interview with Billboard, ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes opened up on the possibility of a special entrance at Bad Blood. Cody Rhodes is expected to have a special entrance organized by the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff band. He is scheduled to be in a tag-team match alongside Roman Reigns against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.
You mentioned the band (University of Arkansas Pine Bluff). They played that on primetime when they played Arkansas, and it’s quite possible you might see them playing it live in the State Farm Arena at Bad Blood. That was incredibly touching. In terms of your question, I’m always so careful about how I answer because the truth is, I don’t know. I just want to do all I can to keep it going. That’s such an honor.”
