WWE Celebrates Ratings Increase For Special Draft Edition Of SmackDown

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H

WWE is celebrating today after a healthy increase in the ratings for the first night of the 2023 Draft.

The April 28th episode of SmackDown scored a total viewership of 2,298,000 which is an increase of 10% from the previous week. There was also a strong increase in the 18-49-year-old demographic, with 789,000 viewers in the age bracket tuning in. That’s an increase of 22% from April 21st.

While the first night of the Draft dominated the headlines, the show also featured a WrestleMania 39 rematch in the main event. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens put their Undisputed Tag Team Titles on the line against The Usos in a fast-paced match that had fans hooked from start to finish.

However, when all was said and done it was the champions who retained the gold. The defeat could have major implications for The Usos who had been warned that there would be consequences should they fail to reclaim the titles.

Elsewhere, Zelina Vega picked up a win over Sonya Deville and AJ Styles made his long-awaited return to WWE television. The former World Champion had been absent since breaking his ankle back in December.
