WWE CCO Triple H’s AEW Stance Vastly Different From Vince McMahon

Triple H's WWE vs AEW stance different from Vince McMahon

Current WWE CCO Triple H has a very different attitude toward AEW as compared to former CEO Vince McMahon.

WWE and AEW have been engaged in a heated rivalry ever since Tony Khan’s promotion emerged onto the scene six years ago. While World Wrestling Entertainment obviously holds top spot in terms of wrestling promotions around the world, All Elite Wrestling has also etched out the second spot and has made great progress in certain markets, especially the UK, with their immensely popular All In PPV at Wembley Stadium. Both companies have gone head-to-head in the past, hoping to outdo each other. Most notably, Dynamite and NXT were competitors on Wednesdays at one time before NXT was moved to Tuesdays.

Recently, World Wrestling Entertainment has tried to go head-to-head with AEW, as the most recent example of this was NXT and Goldberg’s retirement match being scheduled against All In. On August 24, both companies will go up against each other once again, with Forbidden Door being counterprogrammed with NXT Heatwave. It seems that WWE has taken the more aggressive approach when it comes to All Elite Wrestling.

Dave Meltzer also mentioned the same in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, stating that current company top brass Triple H and Nick Khan have a far more aggressive approach to AEW than Vince McMahon ever had. The seasoned journalist even explained that McMahon wanted All Elite Wrestling to go out of business the day it started, but did not want to counterproduce programs as much.

This is an interesting development given the latest rumors doing the rounds.

WWE Wants To Counter Program AEW All Out With John Cena Vs Brock Lesnar

According to several reports doing the rounds, WWE wants to delay John Cena vs Brock Lesnar until September 20 later this year, as they want the two stalwarts’ potential last match to go up against All Out. It seems that Triple H will be booking the yet-unannounced Bad Blood PLE around that time to counter All Out.

There have also been reports that John Cena’s final WWE match could take place at the end of December rather than earlier in the month to go up against Worlds End. However, according, that may not be the case with college football already being scheduled on NBC at the time.

It remains to be seen how the WWE vs AEW battle pans out.
