With the Royal Rumble firmly in the rearview mirror, WWE fans are looking ahead to WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, CA.
The last time The Granddaddy of Them All graced the city of LA was in 2005, and ahead of that event, multiple top stars filmed promotional material to promote WWE heading to Hollywood. The series of vignettes featured WWE Superstars taking part in movie trailer parodies.
Long before he was Chief Content Officer, Triple H donned face paint to portray the iconic Mel Gibson character Braveheart ahead of his main event match against Batista. The future Hollywood leading man himself featured in a Taxi Driver parody, hilariously seeming to forget his line.
Meanwhile, Booker T channeled Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction, and John Cena found himself inside a courtroom, imitating Tom Cruise’s attorney character in A Few Good Men. His upcoming opponent JBL took on the role of Jack Nicholson’s character, believing Cena couldn’t handle the truth.
Who Will Star In The Latest WrestleMania Vignettes As WWE Heads To Hollywood?
Now, according to a new report from WrestleVotes, the sports entertainment giant is set to film a brand new set of movie parody vignettes featuring the stars of both Raw and SmackDown. The Miz, Sheamus, The Street Profits, and Drew McIntyre were all named as talent who will be featured in the promotional segments.
“I’m hearing WWE has begun filming brand new ‘movie parody’ promos similar to those from WrestleMania 21. Miz, McIntyre, Sheamus, Brutes & Street Profits all expected to be included in the promotion for ‘WrestleMania Goes Hollywood.'”
