After WWE and AEW went head-to-head last weekend, both wrestling promotions will once again cross paths.
Earlier this month, AEW announced that the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia will be the home of seven shows from August 27’s Dynamite until September 11’s taping of Collision. It will also include ROH’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on September 5. However, they may no longer be the only wrestling promotion tenants for that time.
In a recent report from WrestleVotes, WWE is interested in holding a show in that same arena on the August 19 episode of NXT.
“We’re told WWE has an interesting location lined up for an upcoming NXT TV — Tuesday, August 19 at the 2300 Arena in Philly. That show comes just one week before AEW kicks off its 7-show residency at the same venue.”

The 2300 Arena has a rich history for wrestling fans. It was the home of the now-defunct ECW promotion from 1993 until 2001 and hosted a special NXT 2300 edition in November last year.
Tony Khan Commented On WWE Counter-Programming AEW
Last weekend, on May 26, WWE NXT and AEW clashed again when the former had NXT Battleground and the latter Double or Nothing 2025.
During the Double or Nothing media scrum, Khan was asked about the counter-programming from other companies. The AEW President said that they were consistent in doing this since the time of Jim Crockett Promotions. However, it won’t be the same winner this time around.
“It’s pretty consistent. I’d say it’s the most consistent event head-to-head scheduling I’ve seen since Jim Crockett Promotions saw a lot of scheduling that went that way. I can tell you this will go a lot differently than that did,”
Not long after Double or Nothing 2025, WWE announced three shows during the same weekend as All In: Texas.
