The event will feature St. Louis native Randy Orton in addition to WWE Superstar John Cena who will make his first Backlash appearance since 2009 as he continues his year-long farewell tour.
The announcement follows a record-breaking Backlash in 2024, which generated the then-largest gate for any arena show in WWE history. The Premium Live Event was held in front of a sell-out crowd at the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France.

WWE Hoping To Continue Strong Backlash Momentum
Backlash was regarded as one of the best shows of the year in 2023 and 2024, largely in part to the hot crowds at each event. Backlash 2023 aired live from Puerto Rico and saw Bad Bunny compete in his first singles match against Damian Priest in a street fight. The following year, Cody Rhodes defended the Undisputed Championship against AJ Styles in Lyon, France in what was the first PLE to take place in the country.
As previously mentioned, Backlash in St. Louis will be another stop on Cena’s year-long farewell tour. The 16-time World Champion is next scheduled to appear at the March 17th Raw taping, which will air live from Brussels, Belgium.
