Scott Garland, known to WWE fans as Scotty 2 Hotty, has landed a behind-the-scenes role in AEW.
The master of the worm has previously been a trainer at the WWE Performance Center, helping the rising stars of the company from 2016 up until 2021.
Speaking on Wrestling with Johners, Garland confirmed that he is a producer for All Elite Wrestling and hopes to work with the promotion more:
“I don’t think it’s a huge secret that I’ve been working for AEW as a producer behind the scenes, as a coach and producer there. I have an opportunity to do more with them, on a regular basis. It looks like at the beginning of the year, I’ll be going pretty hard with them if everything works out the way I hope it does,”
Scotty 2 Hotty: A WWE Fan Favourite
Best known for being a part of the Too Cool faction alongside Rikishi and Grandmaster Sexay. The infectious entrance music, bright attire and awesome dance moves would see Garland and the rest of the group frequently receive great reactions from the live crowd, especially when it was time to bust out the worm. Garland also captured the Tag Team Championships and Light Heavyweight Championship while a part of the company.
A variation of Garland’s signature move is still seen on weekly TV in the modern era, as Alpha Academy member Otis uses the catepillar in many of his matches.
Garland’s final match in WWE came when he reunited with Grandmaster Sexay to unsuccessfully challenge for the NXT Tag Team Championships against The Ascension in February 2014.
Still wrestling in 2023, Garland competes on the independent circuit worldwide.
