WWE Attitude Era Star Makes Surprise Return To The Ring At Independent Show

For the first time since 2015, former WWE Star Spike Dudley made his return to the ring.

As seen at a LIVE Pro Wrestling event on December 3rd, Dudley was in action in a multi-person match. Leon St. Giovanni [LSG], who was also a part of the match, took to social media to post a clip of the match and claimed to get the better of the former Cruiserweight Champion.

I wrestled Spike Dudley tonight. Life is crazy. Don’t worry about the footage. Trust me, I beat him senseless afterwards. @LIVEpwevents

Spike Dudley: The Undersized Wrestler In WWE’s Land Of Giants

At 5ft 8in and weighing just 150 lbs, Dudley was one of the lightest wrestlers on the main roster. Aligning himself with The Dudley Boyz in 2001, Spike Dudley, Lita and Rhyno would all provide interference in the TLC match at WrestleMania X-Seven. Dudley would be taken out of the match after he was hit with a chair shot to the head by Lita and driven through a table by Jeff Hardy via Swanton Bomb off the top of a ladder.

Dudley’s small frame was as much of a curse as it was a blessing for the former Tag Team Champion. While the undersized star was featured in multiple high-profile matches, they were often brutal squash matches against monster heels and contained a painful bump that wouldn’t look of out place in the Jackass franchise. Dudley would frequently be thrown from the ring to the floor, while the intention was for the Cruiserweight to land on a table, this was not a certainty and Dudley would more often than not land on the hard floor below.

Dudley’s final match on the main roster took place on the May 10th 2005 episode of SmackDown, where Dudley lost a 45-second squash to Heidenreich.
