On the March 24th episode of WWE SmackDown, it was announced that the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal will take place the night before WrestleMania.
The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal was introduced in 2014 at WrestleMania XXX. On that occasion, it was won by now-former WWE Superstar Cesaro. The match has also been won by the likes of Matt Hardy, Braun Strowman, Baron Corbin, and Jey Uso.
The winner in 2022 was Madcap Moss who lastly eliminated Finn Balor to score the victory.
Interestingly the upcoming edition of the match will feature Bobby Lashley. The inclusion of the All-Mighty on the match graphic caught the attention of a number of fans as he had been due to face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania, although the match was never formally announced. This could be the latest indication that the match has now been canceled.
Ahead of SmackDown, it was reported that WWE “isn’t confident” that the match will take place.
Another source of his intrigue is the presence of LA Knight. It has been reported that should Bray Wyatt miss WrestleMania, Lashley will be involved with LA Knight. This led some fans to wonder whether a match on the main WrestleMania card could be set up in the Battle Royal.
