WrestleMania SmackDown

WWE have announced that a special WrestleMania themed SmackDown is set to take place on Fox on April 9th 2021.

The special show is set to include the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal and a Fatal-4-Way for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Plus, Adam Pearce has confirmed that we’ll hear from WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Edge and Daniel Bryan.

The 22 Superstar strong entry list for the The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal includes participants from both RAW and SmackDown. The list includes the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Jey Uso, Ricochet and Elias.

Meanwhile, SmackDown Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode will look to defend their titles in a Fatal 4-Way against The Street Profits, Rey & Dominik Mysterio and Otis & Chad Gable.

The show will also see Roman Reigns, Edge and Daniel Bryan address the WWE Universe ahead of their clash at WrestleMania just two days later.

Edge returned to action at the 2021 Royal Rumble following a long injury lay-off. The Rated R Superstar entered the match and number one lasting 58 minutes to earn a world championship opportunity at WrestleMania.

Edge appeared on RAW, NXT and SmackDown following his victory, before finally declaring his intention to face Roman Reigns, delivering a vicious spear to the Universal Champion at Elimination Chamber.

On the March 26th edition of SmackDown, the night’s closing segment saw Adam Pearce announce a the addition of Daniel Bryan into the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania. And rather unsurprisingly, the situation exploded immediately. Edge and Bryan brawled, Roman Reigns got involved, Edge hit Reigns and Jey Uso with spears, before setting up a conchairto on Bryan.

As WWE officials tried to control Edge, clearly incensed, he started taking out the officials left and right with the chair. This allowed Bryan to escape the ring, with the curtain coming down on the show as Edge sat on his beloved steel chair in the middle of the ring.
