Meanwhile, John Cena recently described his and WWE’s “once in a lifetime” packages, which included an NFT as a “catastrophic failure.” Despite high hopes from both the company and Cena, only 37 packages were eventually sold.
Back in the ring, Finn Balor is preparing for a huge rematch with Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Since returning to SmackDown in July, Balor has only had eyes for the Universal Title. After being stepped over by Cena for a match at SummerSlam, the former champion got his match with Reigns on a recent episode of SmackDown.
However, Balor was attacked before the match and was eventually defeated by Reigns via a low blow. It was later announced that the pair will meet one more time at Extreme Rules.
On the September 10th episode of SmackDown held at Madison Square Garden, Balor decided to up the ante. After a tease the previous week, the Irishman brought back his ‘Demon’ persona to confront the champion.
