WWE And AEW Stars Working Together Reportedly Causing A Problem

Amazon Prime Video is bringing back American Gladiators. The sports entertainment brand was a massive success in the 1990s and early 2000s, with wrestling connections such as Mike Adamle and Hulk Hogan. There have been several attempted reboots over the years, including unsuccessful plans WWE and MGM had in 2021.

WWE’s The Miz was recently revealed as the American Gladiators host, along with sideline reporter Rocsi Diaz, and Chris Rose on play-by-play. The cast of 16 Gladiators includes AEW’s Wardlow and Kamille of AEW, former WWE star Rick Boogs, plus OVW star Jessie Godderz of TNA and Big Brother fame.

The Miz is also an Executive Producer on the project. Gladiators is being filmed outside of the United States for the first time. Tapings have been planned for June and July of this year, from the Cergy Aren’Ice multi-purpose arena in Paris, France.

WWE And AEW Involvement In American Gladiators Rumored To Be Causing Problems Already

Officials from AEW and WWE are keeping a close eye on the American Gladiators reboot. A new report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicates that this could play out as another battle in the so-called war between the two companies.

Sources report that there’s already talk of “issues from one side” over The Miz being on the same show as Wardlow and Kamille. It wasn’t clear what the issues pertain to, or if the heat is coming from the WWE or AEW side. However, it was speculated that these alleged problems are something American Gladiators higher-ups never considered.

Amazon Prime is set to premiere American Gladiators on its FAST channels some time in 2025 or 2026. There will be new events for competitors to conquer, and some of the old favorites like Gauntlet and The Eliminator.
