WWE & AEW Trying To Sign Highly Touted Independent Star

While MJF has long predicted a bidding war between WWE and AEW for his services in 2024, there is already a star the two companies are vying for in 2023.

After seeing success in both college football and professional bodybuilding, EJ Nduka made the move to pro wrestling and was signed to WWE in 2019 after impressing scouts at two tryouts.

Despite his impressive athletic background, Nduka never made it onto NXT TV and only had two matches at live events, wrestling under the name Ezra Judge.

After being released in 2021, Nduka was quickly signed by the independent promotion, Major League Wrestling where he has been making waves. However, his contract there ended in January 2023, making him a free agent.

EJ Nduka made AEW debut in February 2023

On the February 7th edition of Dark, Nduka made his All Elite Wrestling debut in a losing effort against Konosuke Takeshita. Following the bout, he was reportedly offered a contract with the company, although it was unclear if he had signed.

Now Fightful has provided an update on the situation, saying they have heard Nduka is “evaluating his options”.

Those options seemingly include contact with WWE, although it is unknown if they have offered the rising star a contract as well.

On top of this, there is potentially heavy interest from promotions in Mexico and Japan, with one Mexican company also offering a contract.

While there are no plans in place for the star to return to MLW, the two parties are said to have an “amicable” relationship.
