Changing plans in wrestling is nothing new, but it appears that WWE made one very late alteration to the WrestleMania 39 card.
Night two of the show features the women’s WrestleMania Showcase, which will see Shayna Baszler & Ronda Rousey take on Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville, Natalya & Shotzi, and Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan.
On the March 27th episode of Raw, Green and Deville became the final team to qualify after uniting in a backstage segment. In the ring, the pair defeated Candice LeRae and Mia Yim to secure their spot in the match. However, as many fans suspected this wasn’t the original plan.
In recent weeks Chelsea Green has struck up a partnership with Carmella. However, the star has disappeared from television, despite being advertised to team with Green on March 20th.
According to advertising at WrestleMania itself, it appears that the original plan was for Green to team with Carmella in the WrestleMania showcase. Posters at the event show the pair pictured together along with the other women in the match.
After being tagged in pictures on social media showing the posters, Sonya Deville responded.

Carmella Absent From WWE Television
Carmella hasn’t featured on WWE television since before missing her scheduled match alongside Chelsea Green on March 20th. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion has also been pulled from a number of live events.
However, she is scheduled to make a number of promotional appearances across WrestleMania weekend.
At time of writing, there is no word as to why the star hasn’t been wrestling.
