All you need to know about this scrapped WWE 2K25 Easter egg.
With approximately two weeks left for WWE 2K25 to release, game developer Bryan Williams has opened up on a scrapped Easter egg, he had planned for the game. Williams tried to include a traditional Samoan wrestler’s trait in the game this year to go with its Bloodline theme.
The Samoan wrestlers are known to be some of the toughest men on the planet. A running gag in the wrestling world, a wrestler cannot ever successfully headbutt his Samoan opponent and could only hurt themselves instead. While this was more prevalent several years ago, modern-day Samoan wrestlers have occasionally displayed this trait.
In a recent interview with Jesse of Pro Wrestling Shoot, Bryan Williams discussed how he tried to include this Easter egg in the game, but had to unfortunately scrap it.
“One of the things that I really wanted to get in that I didn’t, speaking of, Easter egg-type things is, when you headbutt the Samoan, I wanted there to be that reaction where it hurts the attacker versus them. You know what I mean? We weren’t able to get it in, but it’s just one of those cool spots that you would see even Jey did it not that long ago. I forget who tried to headbutt Jey Uso, and he kind of just no sold it.”

This year’s showcase mode is based on The Bloodline and includes several of its iconic matches, featuring modern-day stars such as Roman Reigns, and The Usos to the legendary Afa and Sika. Boasting a massive roster, WWE 2K25 also includes several other legendary wrestlers.
WWE 2K25 Has Teased “Lots Of Surprises” Ahead Of Its DLC Announcement
Speaking with Matt Black of WrestleZone, Bryan Williams broke his silence on the upcoming DLC announcements and hyped up multiple upcoming surprises.
“The DLC will be announced soon. So you know, fans won’t have to wait too much longer to find out what we are offering this year. Secondly, I will say that I am super stoked about this year’s DLC,” said Williams. “We’ve got some surprises, a lot of surprises. Characters that I think, if anybody thinks about it, they’re like, ‘Oh, probably this character, this superstar.’ But we have some genuine surprises, some shocking characters that I think I was shocked that we were able to do what we’re doing.
So, yeah, I’m excited, and I think the fans will be genuinely very excited about this year’s DLC offering.[There are] some wrestlers and superstars that I’m sure it feels like, ‘Oh my god, I never thought I’d have this person in this game.’ It’s a brand new world. We’re pushing the envelope. We’re trying to move mountains, to really know make our DLC as exciting and as worthwhile post launch as it possibly can be.”
