WWE 2K25 Dev Breaks Silence On Upcoming DLC Announcements: “Lot Of Surprises”

WWE 2K25 Details Confirmed: New Matches, What's Included In Each Edition & More!

New information on the upcoming WWE 2K25 DLC.

With around two weeks left for WWE 2K25 to release, game developer Bryan Williams has opened up on the video game’s DLC announcements. WWE 2K25 has been announced to have one of the biggest rosters, however, fans expect more superstars to arrive as multiple DLCs drop throughout the year. The DLC additions allow new superstars to join the roster as well as add new weapons, arenas, and new moves.

Speaking with Matt Black of WrestleZone, Bryan Williams broke his silence on the upcoming DLC announcements. Hyping up the possibilities and surprises, Williams shared,

“The DLC will be announced soon. So you know, fans won’t have to wait too much longer to find out what we are offering this year. Secondly, I will say that I am super stoked about this year’s DLC,” said Williams. “We’ve got some surprises, a lot of surprises. Characters that I think, if anybody thinks about it, they’re like, ‘Oh, probably this character, this superstar.’ But we have some genuine surprises, some shocking characters that I think I was shocked that we were able to do what we’re doing.

So, yeah, I’m excited, and I think the fans will be genuinely very excited about this year’s DLC offering.[There are] some wrestlers and superstars that I’m sure it feels like, ‘Oh my god, I never thought I’d have this person in this game.’ It’s a brand new world. We’re pushing the envelope. We’re trying to move mountains, to really know make our DLC as exciting and as worthwhile post launch as it possibly can be.”

He further opened up if recently debuted WWE stars such as Penta will make it to the game.

“That’s one of the good things about, you know, having DLC and the ability to add content to the game post-launch. There’s no bigger fan of Penta than myself. I’m looking at my action figures, and I still don’t have one, but I will get one soon. So I will just say keep your ears tuned to @WWEGames and wherever you get your WWE 2K25 news, and I think, I think the fan base will be excited about what we are offering this year.”

The game will be available on March 14 and the pre-order deluxe editions will be available to play on March 7.

Two Notable WWE 2K25 Omissions Announced Ahead Of Game Release

Speaking with JustBryan, developer Bryan Williams opened up on two notable WWE 2K25 omissions ahead of the game launch.

“Those titles will not be in the game come the release of 2K25. Not to upset anybody, but the fact of the matter is that when those titles were introduced, they were introduced way late in our development cycle. I want to say that they made the announcement of these titles in November of last year. Then they had the tournament to crown the first champion of each, so we were not able to add them into the game yet.

There’s a lot of different factors for that, outside of the assets that we need for title matches, the title graphic that comes up, there’s also other ramifications. We’ve got to accommodate for this and My GM, we’ve got to accommodate for these titles in Universe. So we didn’t want to just slap these titles in without having the support in the modes that need them the most.

We are having discussions right now to see if we could potentially add these titles post launch as another update where the Women’s U.S. and IC titles can be added into the game. We hear all the chatter. Trust us, had these been introduced maybe even four months earlier, it would have been in for sure. It’s just a matter of our schedule versus how the WWE operates. But we hear you guys and we’re going to do everything we can to see if we can support them.”
