WWE Games appears to have announced who will be on the cover of the next instalment of the videogame franchise.
Promotion recently began for WWE 2K24 on January 17th with the social media account WWE Games unveiling the logo for the upcoming title and posting the date 22.1.24, which looks to be the first official update regarding the game. Since then, multiple posts have alluded to features of the game, inclusions of Hall of Famers and who will be the cover star.
The first update saw the production company post a picture of a referee shirt, which many believe will be the return of the special guest referee stipulation. Additionally, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin has been tagged in the photo, hinting that The Texas Rattlesnake will be a part of the game and potentially a part of the promotional material.
The next tease saw a photo of a casket, which also has Undertaker tagged in the picture. Speculation from fans is that either the casket match is another stipulation that will return or the Showcase mode will allow players to relive the legendary career of The Phenom. Previous Showcase modes in the series have included John Cena, Rey Mysterio and Steve Austin.
The most recent update from WWE Games is one that fans of a certain top star of Raw will be very familiar with. Back in 2016, Cody Rhodes requested his release from the company and made plans to compete around the world. Following his departure, Rhodes would make a list of dream opponents that he wanted to face including Kurt Angle, The Young Bucks and current TNA World Champion Moose.
Recreating this iconic image, WWE Games has made its own checklist for The American Nightmare. While landmark events such as winning the Royal Rumble and main event WrestleMania have been checked off, fans have noticed that WWE 2K24 cover Superstar is placed on the list before winning the title, alluding to the fact that Rhodes will be the featured wrestler in the next instalment of the franchise.

When Will WWE 2K24 Be Released?
There have been no updates regarding the official release date of WWE 2K24. However, with the 2023 title being released in March last year, it is expected that the game will be available before WrestleMania 40.
