More news regarding the next official WWE videogame could be released very soon.
As reported by Mike Straw of Insider Gaming, 2K will be holding an event in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday January 28th. This is the same date and location as the 2023 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event.
WWE 2K23 Has No Official Release Date
The event is said to give fans the first official look at the upcoming game, which will include details on the 2K showcase and the announcement of a new game mode. This continues the trend of adding new content in WWE 2K22, where My GM mode was reintroduced to the franchise.
In an update on the report, fans will not be able to try out the gameplay of WWE 2K23 until a slightly later date. The following information is stated at the end of the invite to the event:
“All event information will be embargoed through the following Tuesday, January 31 to allow for travel and content development.”
More is set to be announced on Wednesday, February 1st. Fans should expect more information regarding the game that will not be announced during the event in San Antonio.
So far, little is known regarding the upcoming title. No cover star has been officially announced by 2K and no official trailers have been released either.
In the same report by Insider Gaming, changes set to be made to the game from the 2022 game include a change to the pinning system along with upgrades to the MyGM and MyFaction elements.
The 2022 WWE game saw a return to form for 2K following the disastrous WWE 2K20 game, which was criticised for multiple glitches, which rendered the game unplayable. While the sequel fixed the issues from the previous version, it still faced criticism from users. One issue from the most recent game was the notable absence of multiple wrestlers from he game.
WWE 2K23 is expected to be released on the PC along with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox.
