Fans of GM mode in WWE’s video games can rejoice as the mode has been confirmed to be returning in WWE 2K22.
A trailer for the upcoming game was very briefly posted onto the WWE 2K YouTube Channel before being removed. Fans got a glimpse of new control configurations in the game, with a new dodge button looking like it’s been introduced to help players avoid attacks.
The Showcase mode is back and will feature the career of former Worle Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio. In addition, MyGM mode was also shown with fans being able to take control of the WWE Universe and book their own shows.
MyFaction mode could also be seen in the trailer which will allow players to try and emulate the likes of DX and nWo by creating their own stable.
MyRise allows players to create a new WWE Superstar and progress them through the ranks and hopefully onto title success and WrestleMania main events. Universe Mode which allows players to play through whole shows and the Creation Suite could also be seen.
During a YouTube stream, Forbes writer Brian Mazique gave an insight into the game’s development, saying:
“I have actually spoken with people who have good knowledge of the game and understand what’s happening from a developmental standpoint, and what I’m told about gameplay at this point is that it is fantastic,” he said.
“That is actually the word that was used for the latest build. The people who were playing the latest build have said the gameplay is fantastic.”
WWE 2K22 is the return of the franchise after no game was released in 2021. Major changes took place behind the scenes after WWE 2K20 was widely panned.
