WWE 24: Drew McIntyre – The Chosen One will air immediately after the as yet untitled NXT TakeOver show taking place that night.
The documentary will look at the life of Drew McIntyre and his rollercoaster journey to reaching the pinnacle of the WWE. From being a kid, when 15-year-olds are only worried about sitting at the “popular table” at lunchtime, McIntyre was already training to become a WWE Superstar.
He didn’t have to wait terribly long to achieve his dream, either, as the endlessly athletic Scotsman skyrocketed from the U.K. independent scene to WWE before he was old enough to rent a car.
The outlook was so bright for the 6-foot-5 McIntyre that when he first arrived, Mr. McMahon labelled him a “future World Champion.” The Chairman was eventually proven correct, though fulfilling that prophecy did not come easily for McIntyre.
McIntyre defends the WWE Championship against Randy Orton in an Ambulance Match at Clash of Champions on September 27th the week prior to the documentary airing.
WWE 24: Drew McIntyre – The Chosen One airs exclusively on WWE Network, Sunday October 4th.
