By Innes McVey. Published 27th December 2020.
Brodie Lee

Tributes are pouring in from across the wrestling world after the tragic announcement of Jon Huber’s passing, known to wrestling fans as Brodie Lee in AEW and Luke Harper in WWE.

Following a statement from AEW announcing the news on Boxing Day, stars from across the wrestling world have taken to social media to pay tribute to the AEW star who was a former AEW TNT, WWE Intercontinental, SmackDown Tag Team and NXT Tag Team Champion:

I’m so deeply sorry for the loss of Jon Huber. We bonded over the love of our children. He was a true family man. #RIPBrodieLee

— Stephanie McMahon (@StephMcMahon) December 27, 2020

WWE is saddened to learn that Jon Huber, known to WWE fans as Luke Harper, passed away today at age 41. WWE extends its condolences to Huber’s family, friends and fans.https://t.co/hZnBguE4Mj

— WWE (@WWE) December 27, 2020

It’s hard to explain to people, and I’m not certain he would want me to, that the biggest, scariest man you’ll ever see on your television is the kindest soul you’d ever meet. A model of a husband and father, and proof that some people are too good for this earth. ♥️ https://t.co/jm6YKlRNBu

— Charlotte Flair (@MsCharlotteWWE) December 27, 2020

When long trips away from home made me miss my wife and daughter, you always made it a little easier. Great wrestler, but perfect family man. I’ll make sure Amanda, Brodie and Nolan always know how much they meant to you. I loved being your friend. Rest In Peace, Jon. pic.twitter.com/wR5927Xlx1

— Dax FTR (@DaxFTR) December 27, 2020

Was a true honor every time we locked horns. You were a damn great man, husband and father. This stings. You will be sorely missed Jon. I will always remember out times together. #RIPBrodie#RIPJonHuberpic.twitter.com/8o8haKexNh

The world has lost a great one.

One of the absolute best.

In every way. #RIPBrodieLee

— Kevin (@FightOwensFight) December 27, 2020

Jon was such a good man. I’m so sorry.

— DRAKE MAVERICK (@WWEMaverick) December 27, 2020

When I got stitched up months ago, Brodie was 1 of the first to check on me & ask if I was ok. I replied "I’m too old & beat up to actually get beat up & hurt. I’m fine."

That led to Brodie hitting me with his amazing trademark laughter & smile & this pic.❤️

Rest In Power, Jon. pic.twitter.com/0nuY99LsIC

Every kind word you read about him is true.

Every person that says they loved him is genuine.

Everyone of us hurts.

And everyone of us is better for having had Jon in our lives.#RIPBrodieLee

When i started wrestling I picked the name Brody not only for Bruiser Brody but also because of Brodie Lee. He was someone that truly pushed the boundaries of a big man wrestler .Though i never got to meet him I looked up to him not only as a wrestler but also a family man. RIP. https://t.co/Tp4kOX8yB9

— Brody King (@Brodyxking) December 27, 2020

I just wanted to quickly say how much Jon loved his family. He never stopped talking about them. He was a great dad which I saw firsthand on the bus to our match. He was so excited to show his son that he could still go hard & he did just that. He loved you so much, I’m so sorry.

— T-BAR (@TBARRetribution) December 27, 2020

I can not thank you enough for all of your help and the advice you gave me for both wrestling and real life. I’m going to miss you so much.

— Alex Reynolds (@YTAlexReynolds) December 27, 2020

Tell your people you love them. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. My heart goes out to the Huber family.#RIPBrodieLee

I just heard the news about the death of Jon Huber…an awful day for wrestling fans. Just two years ago, my son Hughie dressed up as Luke Harper for Halloween. He was a great worker, and a doting father. A huge loss for everyone who loves wrestling. https://t.co/E94sdqmiMB

I can’t believe this. Heartbroken. #RIPBrodieLee

Jon was genuinely one of the best, honest and kindest man I've ever known. He was like that the very first day I met him back in 2007 and was like that the very last day I saw him. I will always only have good memories of him.
I love you man.
