Wrestling Legend Is Now “A Nick Khan Guy”; Reveals Backstage Conversation At WWE PLE

The WWE Universe has slowly embraced Nick Khan following his high-profile hire in August 2020. The life-long wrestling fan is a key part of the massive WWE machine of this era. and now he’s received an endorsement from another legend.

The current WWE President actually worked as an usher at WrestleMania 9 in 1993. After a successful run as a high-profile talent agent, Khan joined World Wrestling Entertainment in August 2020 and has been integral to many landmark deals and product improvements in the Endeavor era.

WWE and AAA presented Worlds Collide this past weekend. Khan was backstage for the historic event, which was the first from the two companies following TKO’s big acquisition. Worlds Collide IV also marked the return of Konnan, who has had somewhat of a rocky past with the Stamford-based promotion. The 4-time WCW champion has worked with AAA for much of his career, wearing many hats on-screen and backstage.

Konnan Is Now A Nick Khan Guy Following WWE Worlds Collide

Worlds Collide featured English commentary from Konnan and Corey Graves. Speaking on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, the former K-Dogg reiterated previously disclosed viewership success for Worlds Collide, labeling this as WWE’s most-viewed event on YouTube.

Konnan recalled talking to Nick Khan backstage at the Kia Forum in Inglewood that day. Ringside News reports that the WWE President saw this as more than just a success as he was happy with the way the show turned out. The former nWo Wolfpac member declared himself to now be “A Nick Khan Guy.”

“I spoke to him briefly, Nick Khan, yes, I’m ‘A Nick Khan Guy.’ I said, ‘I think we hit a home run,’ and he said, ‘No, we hit a Grand Slam.’ So there’s that, that’s the President. They’re happy,” Konnan said. [H/T to RSN]

Konnan admitted there was some concern over low Worlds Collide viewership, and some fear of the matches looking bad, and the show ending as an overall flop. However, that was not the case as Worlds Collide was a massive success, drawing more than 32 million views within the first 24 hours across all of the company’s social media channels.
