One wrestling veteran has speculated that CM Punk could look to sue Tony Khan and AEW in the aftermath of the backstage fight that took place following All Out.
During the post-All Out media scrum on September 4th, CM Punk took verbal shots at Colt Cabana, Hangman Adam Page, and the company’s EVPs, The Elite. His words led to a brawl breaking out backstage involving Punk, the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and Ace Steel as well as others.
The incident has led to the suspensions of everyone involved, while the AEW World Championship and the AEW Trios Championship were declared vacant. Meanwhile, an internal investigation into the melee is ongoing.
Now, legendary manager Dutch Mantell has speculated on his podcast, Story Time with Dutch Mantell, that the fallout from the brawl could well include CM Punk deciding to sue Tony Khan and AEW.
“He’s [CM Punk] well aware of what it involves of suing somebody and if he sees Tony Khan sitting there, of course he got more money than I guess Vince [McMahon] does, his daddy [Shahid Khan] does.
“But I don’t think he [Punk] would hesitate to sue because he’s kind of mad at him now because they didn’t take his side and he may sue him anyway even if he didn’t take his side.”
