Wrestling Legend Believes Dominik Mysterio Is A Better Heel Than MJF

Dominik Mysterio & Judgment Day cut a promo on SmackDown

Since turning on his father, Dominik Mysterio’s star has been on the rise.

The young star has been widely praised for the incredible improvement in his performances as he has risen to become arguably the top heel in WWE. While Dominik has been receiving increasingly visceral reactions in recent months this reached a peak on the April 7th episode of SmackDown.

The crowd in Portland reigned down scorn on Dominik preventing him from speaking and beginning his promo.

Speaking in a new interview with Nick Hausman, veteran Konnan was asked about the reaction and Domnik’s rise as a heel. The former WCW star said that the reaction was “incredible,” noting that no one can touch him as a heel in WWE right now.

“The thing is, he (Dominik) might be a better heel for this one reason,” Konnan began. “People like MJF. People don’t like Dom. So, he is a heel because, you know, he (MJF) went out in Long Island and he was trying to get over and I don’t think Dom would ever do that if he went to San Diego.”

When asked whether MJF needs to change the way he presents himself, Konnan explained that he should focus on being a “straight-up heel.”

“Yes, I think he should just be a straight-up heel and just get heat” he stated. “But, he’s so good and he’s so likable, he’s like Ric Flair. It was hard to really hate Ric Flair because he was so awesome. So, he’s kind of in that, and, of course, he’s catered, some of it is his own fault for catering to the fans sometimes but he’s kind of likable and hatable at the same time. So, he’s kind of in a hybrid situation whereas Dom is just a straight heel that nobody likes.”

Dominik Mysterio Almost Sent To NXT

While Dominik might be one of the most talked about WWE Superstars in the industry today, his recent rise almost didn’t happen. As Dominik’s tag team run with Rey Mysterio began to wind down, many fans and critics wondered what was next for the star, questioning whether he would survive the main roster away from his father.

It has now been reported that during this period WWE contemplated sending him to NXT, removing him from SmackDown and Raw altogether.
