Wrestling Entertainment Series Debut Show Postponed

The debut Wrestling Entertainment Series show promoted by the former Authors of Pain has now been officially postponed and was originally set to take place in the UAE.

Sunny Dhinsa and Gzim Selmani – the former Akam and Rezar, respectively – surprised many by confirming the launch of their own wrestling promotion. The company, titled Wrestling Entertainment Series, will premiere with its first event on Saturday, 4 June from Nottingham, England’s Motorpoint Arena. Or at least that was the original plan.

In a new press release from the company, it has been confirmed that the first Wrestling Entertainment Series show has now been postponed until July 9th.

Gzim Selmani says in the release:

“We have all worked extremely hard on this event, however, things have not been going our way for us. Originally, the first event was set to take place in the UAE, but due to the sad & untimely passing of Sheikh Khalifa, we decided out of respect to change the event to Nottingham.”

Having to move the event to a different continent was troublesome enough, but the show was set to coincide with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in the UK, which is a holiday weekend:

“It was a huge undertaking to move the event to a completely different continent on three weeks’ notice. Unfortunately, with the Queen’s jubilee celebrations and the impact that is having on the events sector in the UK, and with just three weeks to prepare, it proved to be an impossible task.”

“I want to apologise to the fans for any inconvenience caused. We will make it up to you all on July 9th with an incredible show! Also, a big thank you to everyone who has supported WES so far. Since our launch, the response from fans, media, and fellow wrestlers has been really moving. Thank you! See you all on July 9th!”

Anybody requiring refunds or those still looking for tickets are encouraged to contact the Motor Point Arena in Nottingham directly.

The first hint that the show wasn’t going to take place as planned was when IMPACT star Chelsea Green took to social media, initially claiming the show had been cancelled.
