Wrestler Announces He Has Quit WWE ID Program

WWE ID NXT

A WWE prospect has officially confirmed their departure from the company’s ID program.

Earlier last year, the WWE ID program officially began and started with the announcements of several new signings. Over the next few days, the promotion kept announcing its new WWE ID signings, including several talented indie stars.

However, within just a few months of the program, Indie wrestler Freedom Ramsey announced his exit from it. Via an X(Twitter) video, Ramsey announced his departure from the ID program this week. While he shared his gratitude toward World Wrestling Entertainment and how the program helped him learn, grow, and develop, Ramsey opted not to share any reason for his exit.

“I just wanted to share something: I am no longer with WWE ID. This did not happen publicly, some things are just meant to be handled behind closed doors. I just wanted to keep it real with the fans who have supported me since day one, whether it was in small gyms or in the bright lights. WWE has always been a dream of mine. It changed me. Wrestling on WWE Evolve, training at the Performance Center, just meeting everybody I used to see on TV — I learned, I grew, I developed.

Now a new chapter begins, and I’m not sure what that looks like yet, but I’m going to come into it with the same hunger that I did when I started professional wrestling. Thank you guys for the support. Thank you for riding with me. This journey is far from over.”

Ramsey had joined the program in November 2024, when his ID contract was presented during a City Championship Wrestling show in Michigan. In his debut, Ramsey teamed with ID prospect Aaron Rourke in a loss to NXT tag team Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe on the April 30 episode of Evolve.

He was also a part of the ID Championship tournament, where he lost in the first round.

More Details On The WWE ID Program

The ID program is now expected to guide and train talented indie wrestlers to build a possible career in WWE. It began following the success of the previous NIL program.

The promotion has collaborated with and provided the official ‘ID’ stamp to multiple academies run by current or previous WWE stars such as Reality of Wrestling (Booker T), the Nightmare Factory (Cody Rhodes), the Black and Brave Academy (Seth Rollins), Elite Pro Wrestling Training Center, and KnokX Pro Academy.

In other news: Goldberg has named the five wrestlers he is impressed with.
