WrestleMania Plans For Women’s Tag Team Titles Reportedly Revealed

By James Holder. Published 31st March 2021.
Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler

WrestleMania plans for WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler have reportedly been revealed.

As noted by Mike Johnson of PWInsider current plans will see Jax and Baszler defend their titles on night two of the extravaganza. Their opponents for that match will be decided in a multi-team Battle Royale during night one.

Johnson reports that the Battle Royale may include “four teams” although nothing is set in stone at this point in time.

The report goes on to add that material that will be used to set up the match on the April 5th episode of RAW was shot on March 30th.

There is currently no word on which teams will feature in the Battle Royale, although Jax and Baszler have recently interacted with Naomi and Lana, and Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose on RAW, and Natalya and Tamina on SmackDown.

However, before the champions get to WrestleMania they are set to face the team of Asuka and Rhea Ripley on April 5th.

The match was set up during the contract signing for Asuka and Rhea Ripley’s WWE RAW Women’s Title match at WrestleMania. As the two women signed the contract, Asuka screamed at Ripley that her confidence is borrowed and not earned, an irate Ripley then threw a table at the champion.

In the midst of the action Jax and Baszler made their way to the ring, with the match then being set for the following week.

Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler recently went head to head with the SmackDown Women’s Champion and the number one contender, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair. Banks and Belair challenged for the titles on two occasions but came up empty handed.

It was recently revealed that the injuries that Asuka sustained following a particularly stiff kick from Shayna Baszler will take six months to fully heal. The Empress Of Tomorrow lifted the lid on her injuries, explaining that she is currently wearing a false tooth, which will eventually need replacing.
