WrestleMania 39 Segment Featuring Popular WWE Star Scrapped

WWE WrestleMania 39

Bobby Lashley, Bray Wyatt, and LA Knight all missed out on matches at WWE’s biggest event of the year.

Following Elimination Chamber, Bobby Lashley entered a feud with Bray Wyatt which was seemingly due to set up a match at WrestleMania. However, just as things were getting started, Wyatt went missing from WWE television. It has been reported that his absence is due to an unspecified illness.

This was followed by reports that Lashley would still feature on the show, likely in a segment or match with LA Knight. The former NXT star was also without a match on the show, despite being linked with a bout with Steve Austin.

When both men competed in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the March 31st episode of SmackDown, many expected a storyline to be created setting up a WrestleMania match. While Knight was the firm favourite in the match and Lashley won, before laying down a WrestleMania challenge, no segment took place.

Lashley’s only involvement at WrestleMania was to bring the Andre The Giant trophy onto the stage on night two.

It has now been reported by WRKD Wrestling that Lashley was indeed meant to have a segment with LA Knight on night two, but it was scrapped for currently unknown reasons.

“A noticeable on-screen absence from this weekend’s #WrestleMania was LA Knight, even after saying, “WrestleMania will get that LA Knight moment!” We’re told Knight was scheduled to have a segment with Lashley on night two. We are unsure, as of now, why the change was made.”

Bobby Lashley Did Little To Hide Frustration With WWE

Following his brief WrestleMania appearance, Bobby Lashley took to social media to vent his frustration. While the show was still going on the former World Champion ‘liked’ a series of tweets calling out WWE for their handling of the star.
