With WWE On A Slippery Slope With Brock Lesnar, It’s AEW’s Time To Strike

Did WWE just gift a golden ticket to AEW?

A few years ago, in 2019, Tony Khan co-founded All Elite Wrestling as a major mainstream pro-wrestling competition to WWE’s monopoly in the professional wrestling industry. Filled with an extremely talented roster and a lucrative TV deal, AEW soon established itself as a major threat to the company.

However, while the promotion began on a high and received a boost in their ratings during WWE’s tragic 2019 phase, it soon started going downhill. For the past year, Khan’s All Elite Wrestling has been on a terrible run of TV ratings and viewership. While the AEW PPVs have been able to retain the fans, the weekly shows have rather turned down disappointing.

However, the controversial WWE return of Brock Lesnar could just be everything that Khan’s promotion needed right now. The Beast Incarnate’s return has attracted several negative remarks from fans and critics alike, with some calling out his comeback as extremely repulsive due to his ongoing involvement in the Janel Grant-Vince McMahon sexual assault lawsuit.

The Jacksonville-based promotion currently has the option to bring more eyes to their product and attract the attention of the WWE fans, currently disgusted by Brock Lesnar’s return. Khan currently also has the chance to properly utilize the ex-WWE names on his roster and blend them creatively into the storylines. Tony Khan also has the responsibility to produce better storylines, weekly shows, and promote them extensively to capitalize on the momentum, and strike at WWE’s current slippery slope.

WWE Veteran And Ex-AEW Champion Currently Out Of Action

Recently, following his brutal TNT Championship match against Kyle Fletcher on Collision, AEW original and WWE veteran Dustin Rhodes announced a medical emergency and his upcoming surgery.

Soon, Fightful Select also confirmed Rhodes’ upcoming double knee surgery and hiatus timeline. Arguably, one of the biggest names on Tony Khan’s roster, his absence could significantly hurt his situation.
